!!! BOOM !!!

An explosion echoes through your skull and as the darkness recedes the stench of burning plastic assails you. It seems you blacked out, fortunately only for a second or two or else you probably wouldn't have woken up at all.

You manage to get your Mechadroid back on its feet but it seems that your protective bubblewrap armour is quickly melting away and a glance at your laser rifle shows that the batteries are dead. The enemy Halcyon-class mechadroid is much lighter than yours but it caught you by surprise and managed to cause catastrophic damage.

You lurch forward, hunched over slightly to present a smaller target – a sigh of relief escapes your lips as a foam missile whistles just inches from your head. You don’t even bother to straighten up and just barrel straight into the Halcyon, the extra size and weight of your Titan sends it sprawling to the ground with a sickening -crunch- while you retain your footing.

Your mechadroid is in pretty bad shape but looking down to survey the damage you see that you have buckled the attacker’s leg, they won’t be getting back up after that. You also note the clenched fist of Stoner sketched onto the Halcyon’s shoulder with a red biro.

What are Stoner doing here?

You could try to rouse the pilot and press him for answers, or it might be worth checking the training facility for any survivors or equipment – either way though there might be more Stoner mechadroids around. It might be best to head to the city to report the attack.

The enemy pilot is barely conscious but you drag him from his mechadroid and manage to bring him around. Interrogation isn't too difficult, just a matter of applying pressure to his broken limbs, his piercing screams however are sure to draw attention so you have to be quick.

He divulges that there are indeed more mechadroids around the facility but that this attack was just meant to hamper your military's responses while the real force moved on the city - even though you survived the ambush, your mechadroid is damaged and you present no threat.

You press for more information but he spits in your face "Harvester scum, I won't betray Commander Jargon!" at that he clenches his teeth together and within moments is foaming at the mouth having swallowed a suicide pill.

So there are more mechadroids nearby and they may have been alerted by his screams, you could still try searching the facility or you could head to the city and try to raise a defence. Alternatively you could try scouting for the main Stoner forces, perhaps you'll get lucky.

You move back to the grounds of the facility. Clearly the Stoner forces made a precision strike and you see mechadroids that you recognise now reduced to little more than smoldering wreckage.

Unfortunately the only structurally sound mechadroid you come across is a training model, even in good condition it's less practical than your titan; you strip a few armour plates from it to make minor repairs where you can and pocket an extra roll of duct tape just in case field repairs become necessary.

As you're moving back out of the facility you move around a corner and almost walk into an enemy mechadroid - fortunately he has his back to you and with the benefit of surprise on your side your mechanical claw is easily able to tear the head free from it's drawing pin rivets and a swift blow renders the exposed pilot unconscious.

Now it's a case of whether you scout for the enemy forces or head on to Draig city.

Draig City lies due south from the training facility, it shouldn't take too long to get there in your mechadroid but you'll have to be on the look out for enemy patrols.

You have one close call when a squadron of Stoner P4P3R aeroplanes pass directly overhead, fortunately you have time to shut down your systems and they don't seem to detect you. Aside from that your journey is uneventful.

You reach the top of the last hill and see the imposing walls of Draig City directly ahead of you, everything seems to be in order. Approaching via the main gate would certainly be the quicker option, but the service entrance over the other side of the city would be stealthier.
