Thanks for the post sub.  Yeah, that was a bug we didn't pick up on =).  We'll continue working on it when time allows.  We'll probably dedicate another two weeks to it soon(ish!).

Hi all,

We've been looking at the feedback from Mechadroids and one feature that has been requested the most is the addition of 'Zero Player Activities'.  What this means is a task/activity/job that you can set that will run even though you're not playing Mechadroids.  An example of this would be going out gambling to gain a few more credits while you're waiting for your heat to cool down.

Since this is a community requested feature we'd like to hear some ideas for activities.  We'd like them to be written up in a way that fully explains the activity and benefit of doing it.  As an example please use a format similar to below.

Activity Name: Gambling
Time to Finish: 24 hours (full 50 heat worth)
Cost: <level> * 10 credits
Description: Gamble to gain more credits.  Gains credits worth a percentage of your level.
Example: You gamble the night away amongst your fans at the Mech-a-rama casino.  You're on fire and manage to win 500 credits!
Advantage Brought to Mechadroids: No chance to lose money - only gain.  This helps offset problems when a human player is stuck and cannot beat other Mechadroids.  It allows them to get enough credits to buy the next weapon or shield.

Lets see what ideas we can make up that will fit nicely into the world of Mechadroids.

Hi Guys,

We've got a lot of new battle messages to write for our new battle system.  If you fancy helping out what we need is formats like the following...

Weapon Example
"%ATTACKER% hacks %DEFENDER%'s systems with a Computer Virus through the %TARGET% causing massive power fluctuations.'

Shield Example
"%DEFENDER%'s Cardboardium Alloy Plating yields slightly to the attack but still absorbs some of the damage."

and as you can see it needs to include the following...

%ATTACKER% (only for weapon messages), %DEFENDER%, <Weapon/Shield Name>, %TARGET (only for weapon messages and they are head, left leg, body, right arm etc).  Try to keep the %ATTACKER% and %DEFENDER% at the start of the message.

We need three for each of the following weapons and shields.  Low, medium and high damage messages.

Weapons
  • Necronomicon
  • Balrog on a Leash
  • Steam Forum Thread
  • Unholy Hand Grenade
  • Deadly Neurotoxin
  • Strapless Wiimote

Shields
  • UN Weapons Inspector
  • Diplomatic Immunity
  • Massive Ego
  • Action Hero Aura
  • The One Ring
  • Nuclear Submarine
  • Adamantium Shield
  • Somebody Else's Problem Field
  • Carefully Constructed Maze of Towers

We may not use the ideas posted and if we do all the rights will belong to us (for legal reason again!).  Good luck!

Discussion / Create A Bot For Mechadroids!

Hi Guys!

Jargon and I are in the process of creating the bot Mechadroids that will exist within the game.  These bots exist for two main reasons.  The first is to give players more Mechadroids to attack as the bots will be spread between all levels.  This will help to keep the game interesting especially when the number of human players will start relatively low.  The second reason is to provide a source of credits within the game.  Without new sources of credits, which are constantly being used to buy new shields and weapons, players will eventually run out!

So... onto the good news!  We're giving you guys, our community, the opportunity to create a Mechadroid bot name as many bot names as you like.  To submit your Mechadroid bot name just reply to this thread.  Remember it's just one bot per member!

Here are some examples of bots we will include: Warden, Halcyon, Harvester, Synapse and Reaper to name a few.

Just to cover ourselves (you never know what might happen in this crazy world!) by posting the Mechadroid bot name here you agree to pass all rights over to Deadworld Studios!
